01 / STORE

App Store Storefront and account region

Before buying, check two things: which storefront you’re viewing and whether the product page is for Shadowrocket. The app isn’t available in the China mainland App Store, so not finding it there doesn’t necessarily mean you searched for the wrong name. Your Apple ID country or region determines which storefront you see. Your device language and location are separate from your App Store account region.

The main button on this page opens Shadowrocket’s US storefront product page. The us in the link identifies the webpage’s storefront; it doesn’t change your Apple ID country or region or set up payment for your account. The webpage can show app details, but whether you can complete a purchase depends on your App Store account status and the prompts on your device. If you see a message such as “Not available in your country or region,” check your account first. Being able to open the webpage doesn’t mean your account is ready to buy.

How to check your country or region

  1. Open Settings, then tap the Apple ID account area at the top.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account. Complete verification if prompted.
  3. Tap Country/Region to view the storefront associated with your account. Menu names and layouts may vary slightly by system version.
  4. If you need to change it, use the Change Country or Region option on that page. Review Apple’s requirements before deciding whether to continue.

Changing your country or region may affect your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing status, and payment method. These steps show where to find the setting; they don’t mean every account can change regions right away. Apple’s account requirements determine whether you can proceed. If the page asks you to resolve an account issue first, follow that process. A storefront issue isn’t a Shadowrocket connection problem.

Also check which account is actually used for Media & Purchases. The account shown at the top of your device’s Settings isn’t a substitute for checking purchase history. To restore the app, you need the Apple ID that originally paid for it. Confirm your account and storefront region before buying so you can find the right purchase later if you change devices. For more on regions, see Apple ID regions and App Store availability.

02 / VERIFY

Shadowrocket Three checks to verify the app

Search results may include apps with the same name or similar branding. Don’t buy based only on a nickname, part of an app name, or similar colors. Check the developer name, official icon, and app ID on the same product page before proceeding. This is the Shadowrocket official website and manual; the App Store product page linked here is the place to buy and install the app.

Check each item before you buy

Developer
Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Find the full name in the product page’s developer or seller information. Don’t verify it by matching just one word.
Official icon
A blue-and-purple outlined rocket on a white background, matching the official icon used on this site. Similar artwork is only a clue; also check the developer and app ID.
App ID
932747118. The product link on this page ends in id932747118, which identifies the specific App Store listing.

Open the product page using the button on this page, then check the listing on your device instead of choosing by name from multiple search results. If you open it from search, read the full developer information. Stop and verify if the name, icon, or app ID doesn’t match. Check the icon together with the app’s identity; similar artwork alone doesn’t prove two listings are for the same app.

Before confirming your purchase, check the app name and price again. The App Store displays transaction details based on the storefront and local currency; the final confirmation screen shows the actual terms for your purchase. The US reference price in this guide isn’t a fixed price for other regions. Don’t rely on search ranking, review text, or the word “official” in an app name instead of checking all three identifiers.

After installation, the App Store manages future updates. Return to this product page to check update notes, compatibility, or developer information. This manual explains how to use the app; the App Store listing provides current sales and compatibility details. For more on identifying the genuine app, see How to identify the genuine Shadowrocket app.

03 / IPHONE

iPhone Install and open for the first time

On your iPhone, open the verified App Store product page and check the system requirements under Compatibility. Follow the store prompts to confirm your purchase and install the app. App Store listing takes precedence for system requirements. This guide doesn’t treat any system version as a permanent requirement. If your device is marked incompatible, check its current system version against the listing instead of repeatedly retrying the same purchase.

You may need to verify your account or confirm payment details during checkout. Follow the steps shown by the App Store. If installation hasn’t finished, check your network connection, available storage, and any store messages. Payment, app installation, and server connectivity are three separate stages. Changing connection rules won’t resolve a purchase or installation issue before you’ve opened the app.

Before connecting for the first time, get your existing connection details ready

After opening Shadowrocket, check the server list under Home. Buying the app doesn’t automatically provide a working server; you need your own existing subscription or server details. Import them based on their format, or enter them under Add Server. Check the address, port, protocol, and credentials against your existing information. Don’t fill in guessed values and turn on the connection.

When you connect for the first time, the system may ask to let Shadowrocket add a VPN configuration. This permission creates a VPN entry managed by the app; it isn’t part of the app purchase and doesn’t confirm that a server works. Make sure the request comes from the Shadowrocket app you just opened, then follow the system prompts to authorize and authenticate. If you cancel, the connection process may not continue; you can return to the app and try again.

After importing, check the Global Routing selection: Config uses a configuration, Proxy uses a proxy, and Direct connects directly. For your first test, avoid changing several settings at once. Confirm the current mode, then open a site that normally works for you and check the result. If the connection switch is on but you can’t access anything, troubleshoot the server, mode, DNS, and Rule in that order. See the quick-start guide for steps.

04 / IPAD

iPad Universal purchase and device checks

Shadowrocket is available on both iPhone and iPad. With the same Apple ID used for the purchase, you can find your purchase and install the app on a compatible iPad without buying it again for the second device. Check the App Store listing for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. Before proceeding, verify the account under Media & Purchases on your iPad so you don’t mistake another account’s store status for your original purchase.

If the iPad product page shows a price to buy again, don’t confirm the payment right away. Go back to your App Store account and look for the purchased item. Check the account used for the original purchase and the transaction record. Being able to open the app on your iPhone doesn’t mean the iPad is using the same purchase account. To restore the app, check your store account and purchase history, not the server list in the app.

The iPad’s wider screen may change the layout of lists, details, and some controls, but interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings remain the reference points in this manual. Follow the label to find the relevant screen, then locate the control in its current layout. You don’t need to match its position pixel for pixel to the iPhone version.

Purchases carry over; connection details still need checking

After installing on another device, check that your own subscription or server details are available. Your app purchase history and the connection details saved on a device are separate; installing the app doesn’t mean all your settings have been restored. Import your own details, then check the active configuration file, Global Routing, and system permission. Finally, test the connection on that device.

The Compatibility section of the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Get the app on these devices through the App Store. Check the listing for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. This page focuses on iPhone and iPad; check the actual interface and input methods on other devices instead of following iPhone control locations.

05 / RESTORE

Shadowrocket Move to a new device and restore purchases

When you switch devices or reinstall the app, restore your purchase first, then handle your connection details. Sign in with the original Apple ID, find Shadowrocket under Purchased in the App Store, and download it again without paying for the same app twice. You’ll need access to the original purchase record. If you remember the app name but aren’t sure which account bought it, check the account first.

Find the app in your purchase history

  1. On the new device, make sure Media & Purchases is signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase.
  2. Open the App Store, tap your account, then open Purchased. Depending on the system version, this option may appear under Apps or purchase history.
  3. Find Shadowrocket, check the developer information, and tap the redownload option. Wait for installation to finish.
  4. Open the app, import your own subscription or server details, check Config and Global Routing, then follow the prompts to authorize the VPN configuration.

If Shadowrocket isn’t in the list, check your purchase history and account first. Then check for hidden purchases and whether the app is still available in your storefront. App visibility depends on your account region and store status, so the restore steps may vary by account. Follow Apple’s account process for store-related restrictions instead of repeatedly deleting the app or changing connection settings.

If you’ve confirmed the purchase but still see a price button, stop and check whether the current store account matches the transaction. Don’t make another purchase instead of verifying the record. Check the App Store listing and Apple’s current Family Sharing purchase requirements to see whether sharing applies. Family members’ purchases are distinct from your own, so being in the same family doesn’t guarantee you can restore the app.

What to check after restoring the app

Reinstalling the app doesn’t automatically restore your server details, subscription URL, or custom rules. Before switching devices, make sure you can still access these details and store configuration data containing credentials securely. After importing on the new device, check each server field and the active configuration file. If you customized rules on the old device, verify which file is actually active on the new one; a similar name in the list isn’t enough.

When you connect for the first time, check whether the system asks you to authorize the VPN configuration, then test access. If something goes wrong, note the stage: purchase not found, app won’t open, import failed, or no access after connecting. Pinpointing the stage helps you choose the right steps and avoid repeating purchase checks for a server issue.

06 / PRICE

Shadowrocket Price and one-time purchase

Shadowrocket is a paid app with a one-time purchase. The US storefront reference price is $2.99. Other storefronts show local currency; check the App Store product page and purchase confirmation for the actual amount. This reference explains the purchase model, not a guaranteed price for every region or transaction. Check the amount shown for your account before confirming.

The app purchase isn’t a monthly subscription. “One-time purchase” means you pay once for the app. You can install or restore it later from the purchase history associated with that account. Check the App Store listing for universal purchase status and device compatibility. App updates are also handled through the App Store; check the listing for current update notes.

The app provides tools for importing, connecting, applying rules, and managing configurations. Whether a server works or an existing subscription is valid depends on the information you have and the status of the relevant service. After paying for the app, you still need your own connection details. Likewise, valid connection details don’t replace the App Store purchase. The payment records, requirements, and troubleshooting steps for each are different.

For example, if Home has no servers after you buy the app, check whether you’ve imported your own details instead of buying the app again. If the App Store shows a price after you switch devices, check the purchase account and history instead of updating a subscription. Keeping the app purchase separate from your connection details helps you go straight to the right checks.

Subscription URLs and server credentials are sensitive information that belong to you. When troubleshooting, don’t share full credentials publicly or store purchase records together with subscription URLs. Follow the quick-start guide after installation. For help understanding rule fields, see the configuration field reference. You don’t need to change every option the first time you open the app.

App Store Purchase FAQs

Separate store access, purchase history, and connection settings before choosing what to check.

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the China mainland App Store?

Shadowrocket isn’t available in the China mainland storefront. Your Apple ID country or region determines which store you can see. Check it under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. The “us” in the product page URL doesn’t change your account region; Apple’s account requirements determine whether you can change it.

The product page opens, but the download won’t complete. What should I check?

Read the specific App Store message first. Then check the account used for Media & Purchases, the storefront region, device compatibility, available storage, and your network connection. Handle payment or account verification through Apple’s account process. You don’t need to change Shadowrocket’s Rule or DNS settings at this stage.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new device or reinstall Shadowrocket?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased to download it again. You won’t be charged a second time for the same app. If a price still appears, check the purchase account and history. After restoring the app, verify and import your own subscription or server details.

Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad if I bought it on iPhone?

Shadowrocket is available for both iPhone and iPad. With the same Apple ID used for the purchase, you can install it on another compatible device. Check the App Store listing for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. Your app purchase history is separate from subscriptions, servers, and configuration files on your device, so check your own setup after installation.

Can I use Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The Compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Get the app on these devices through the App Store as well. Check the listing for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. Don’t assume that iPhone instructions apply to other devices.

The interface is in English. How do I follow the instructions?

This official manual keeps interface labels in English. Use Home to check servers and connection status, Add Server to enter existing server details, Config to manage configuration files, and Settings to review preferences. Follow the quick-start guide to import your details, select Global Routing, and test the connection. There’s no need to change every setting at once.
